We chose these 7 women because either their stories weren’t being told at all or told enough. We’ve taken the time to research and find images that inspire and empower us and we’ve recreated them shot by Myrina Renaissance. Camara Cruz, DP, filmed re-enactments of Florence Mills, Leontyne Price & Ericka Huggins in 2021 . In 2022, we brought Fredrika Washington, Debbie Allen, Hazel Scott and Lois K. Alexander-Lane to the stage at Grandel Theatre for a live monologue performance titled, “I Am H.E.R.” written by Antwoinette Ayers.
