Leader, writer & editor of the inter-communal News Service of the Black Panther Party in LA, "the secret weapon" Ericka Huggins. She had the longest tenure of any woman in the Black Panther Party. Ericka was the first black person and woman to be appointed to the Alameda Board of Education. She worked with the likes of other historical women like Maya Angelou & Rosa Parks due her outstanding curriculum at Oakland Community School run by the Black Panther Party. We honor you Ericka and thank you for your contributions to the culture and advancement of our people.
